JoAnn Salazar

JOANN Y. SALAZAR, 52, a resident Chamita, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2017. Joann was preceded in death by her father Johnny Salazar Sr.; sister, Sandra Salazar; brother, John Salazar Jr.; grandmother, Adela Romero. JoAnn loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She was a loving mother, daughter, grandmother, auntie and friend. She will be missed dearly. JoAnn is survived by her daughter, Nicole Mascarenas (George); mother, Neoma Salazar, grandchildren, Johnnica Armijo, Melody  Mascarenas, Santiago Gallegos; Godson, Curtis Cruz (Cheyenne) and Olivia; Nephew, Dereck Salazar (Monica) and Kids; aunt, Erma Romero; niece, Rheanna Romero (Kyle) and Khareena and many other relatives and friends.  Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh with the Burial to follow at the Chamita Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Curtis Cruz, Dereck Salazar, George Gallegos, Miguel Trujillo, and Kyle Sandoval. The family of JoAnn Y. Salazar has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
