Joann Avila, 51, a resident of Chamita passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, April 8, 2023.
She was preceded in death by her family, Jose Miguel Maestas, mother Mary Frances Salazar, grandmother Lupe Salazar, paternal grandparents Blaus Maestas, sisters Joann Maestas, Jenni Atencio, Loretta Gonzales, brothers Lencho Maestas, Tony Salazar, and Leo Gonzales, uncles Felipe Salazar and Gilbert Maestas, aunt Rosina Pacheco and Tia Eloisa, nephews Michael Gonzales, Joseph Atencio, Randy Atencio, Zachary Atencio, godson Robert (Chuey) Rodriguez, nieces Rosemary (Weda) Gonzales and Sherry Gonzales.
Mrs. Avila is survived by her husband Rosalio Avila, daughters Graciela Hernandez (Ivan), Vanessa Viallalba (Derrick Lujan), son Michael Villalba, sister Darlene Maestas and husband Humberto, grandkids Briana, Luis, Yari, Alianna and fur babies, Loba, Choco, Pancito, Killer, Cutie, Osita, Toxita, and Jalapeno, nieces Lee, Khrista, Brenda, Debbie and and Charlene, nephews Moses, Christopher, Robert and Joey, Madrina Yolanda Martinez and numerous other relatives and friends.
Joann was a very kind and loving person and had a big heart. She loved to go camping, go to concerts, she adored her grandbabies and fur babies. She will be dearly missed.
A rosary will be held at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. And a Mass will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Church in Santa Cruz, NM.
