Joachim-Andre Charles Lance Age-32 - Pecos Cde Baca

During this Lenten season on March 29, 2012, Joachim-Andre Charles Lance CdeBaca, age 32 has gone home to rest. Andre was born on May 23, 1979 to Joseph & Agnes CdeBaca, the youngest of five; three brothers and a sister. He was lifelong resident of Pecos. He was a member of the church family of St. Anthony’s Parish in Pecos. He attended Pecos Independent Schools, enjoying the love of learning and discovery in science. He especially enjoyed participating in sports and was a world competitor in cross-country by running in Australia and England. Upon completing high school in 1997, Andre joined the United States Marines Corps. While in the Marines he attained meritorious recognition in outstanding conduct and performance of his duties. After his service in the military he attended Wyoming Tech in Laramie, WY, graduating with an Associate’s Degree in Body Modification & Fabrication. Andre returned to New Mexico where he continued with his passion for metal working. Andre loved spending time with his friends and family, working on his truck, hunting, and making people laugh. His love for his nieces and nephews was seen at all sporting events they competed in, especially running, where he could be seen running and cheering for the Pecos athletes. Andre was best loved for his kind heart and willingness to do anything for anyone. He is preceded in death by his brother , Brian Cabeza de Vaca; Grandparents, Paul & Rufina Martinez and Frank & Jenny CdeBaca; his uncle Leonard CdeBaca; cousin Angelique LaMon; dear friends, Orlando Lucero, Davie Quintana & Diego Gonzales. Andre is survived by his loving family – his parents; brothers: Rudy (Anita), Paul (Lisa) – sisters, Nazare Mondragon (Lorenzo) & Melinda Cabeza de Vaca – beloved nephews & nieces: Paul (PJ), Cassandra, Camille, Isaiah, Mone, Dominic, Janelle, Ana Maria, Estevan; God-daughters, Cassandra CdeBaca & Savannah Ortiz; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Visitation will take place at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Pecos, NM from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, with a Rosary to follow at the church beginning at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s Church starting at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2012. Interment will follow at the Parish Cemetery immediately after the Mass. Reception immediately following at Casa De Herrera. Pallbearers will be: PJ CdeBaca, Isaiah Mondragon, Dominic Cabeza de Vaca, Fabian Lopez, Anthony Gonzales, Orlando Trujillo, Wesley Martinez, Adrian LaMon; Honorary Pallbearers: Andres Barros, Rick McWilliams, Miquella Herrera, Vinny Rodriguez, Isidro Gonzales, Victoria Gonzales, Greg Trujillo, Jared Alire, Kenn Vigil and Joe Vigil.
