JIM P. QUINTANA, 31, a resident of San Pedro, was called to be with our Lord on Thursday, January 2, 2014. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Elias and Sennie Garcia, his paternal grandparents, Adam and Josie Quintana, his uncles, Elias Garcia, Jr., Johnny Quintana, Arthur Quintana, and Ernie Quintana. Mr. Quintana is survived by his parents, Jimmy and Thelma Quintana of San Pedro; sister, Katrina Quintana (Daniel); Shirl Montoya, his girlfriend and her parents, Leo and Rose Montoya; aunts and uncles, MaryElla Fernandez and Laverne (Robert) Garcia of Albuquerque, Christine Quintana of San Pedro, Veronica (Jimmy) Romero of Pojoaque, LouElla (Scott) Toney and William (Shawn) Garcia of Colorado, Rickie Sanchez and Johnny (Kathy) Quintana of Sombrillo, and many cousins and friends. Jim loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping with his family. His family meant everything to him, he was always kind and considerate with them and he always included them in all he did. His dad was his world and his mom was his everything. His sister was his best friend and his girlfriend was the love of his life. He graduated from Española Valley High School in 2000 and from Northern New Mexico College. He was a true Philadelphia Eagles fan and had the honor to take a trip of a lifetime with his dad to watch them play on December 29. He had a huge heart and was loved by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by everyone he touched. Though he left us with broken hearts, it comforts us to know that he is now in paradise with his Lord and Savior whom he loved with all his heart and will be waiting for us with open arms when we join him.\r\nPublic visitation will begin on Monday, January 6, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a wake service to be held at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at 11:00 at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Burial to follow at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Santa Cruz with the following serving as pallbearers, Joey Herrera, Adrian Maestas, Johnny Quintana, David/Ryan Quintana, Danny Cordova, Esteban Garcia, Sidney Quintana, Adam Montoya and George Sanchez. Honorary pallbearers are all his cousins and Alyssa Montoya. Donations may be made to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory to assist the family with funeral expenses.
