Jimmy A. - age 66 - Peñasco Vasquez

\r\nJimmy A. Vasquez, 66, a resident of Peñasco, passed away of a short illness on Saturday, October 18, 2014. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Luis and Margarita Vasquez; brother, Joe Eddie Vasquez. Jimmy made many friends, and a great life. Jimmy had a great love for his horses, he was known in his younger days riding his horse in the Peñasco Rodarte, Llano, and all over. Jimmy was known for his fruit stand that he tended to during the summer and fall roasting green chili and selling fruits and vegetables. Jimmy was a family man, loved and respected his parents, brothers, sisters, nephews, and nieces. He always had a great love and respect for his padrino always wanted to make him proud, lastly he enjoyed going to the casinos were he made many good friends who spent time and made him smile. Jimmy is survived by his brothers and sisters, Connie Vasquez and husband Miguel Compos of Alcalde, Rosie Rodriguez and husband Anival of Albuquerque, Becky Frese and husband Jim of Tooele Utah, Josie Romero, and husband Pete of Monte Vista CO, Johnny Vasquez and wife Lorraine of Talpa, Taos, Fidel Vasquez of Santa Fe, Dennis Vasquez his primary caregiver of Peñasco, Minnie Vasquez of Albuquerque, Florence Vasquez of Peñasco, Gilbert Vasquez and wife Tilla of Alcalde, half brothers and sisters, Luis Vasquez and wife Ruby of Albuquerque, Juliette Gonzales and husband Ernest of Alcalde, 29 nieces and nephews, plus numerous other loving great nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Public visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at the Mormon Church in Rodarte, with a burial to follow at the Peñasco cemetery. The family of Jimmy A. Vasquez has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley. \r\n
