Jimmy Leon Walker, 72, of Hernandez, New Mexico, passed away on February 13, 2025. Born on Christmas Day in 1952, Jimmy brought joy and warmth to all who knew him.

A brilantly skilled electrician by trade, Jimmy was a hardworking man who took pride in his craft. He worked and lived in Silver City, New Mexico for many years where he raised his two girls Jamie and Jess, made great friends, and touched many lives. In 2004, Jimmy moved to Los Alamos where he has worked ever since. From the time he first became an electrician he has been a loyal and dedicated brother to his union, The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. While in Silver City he was the president of his local for many. Beyond his work he found great happiness in the outdoors, spending time camping and fishing. He moved to Hernandez a couple years after he started working in Los Alamos to be closer to Northern NM fishing and outdoors. He was also an avid football fan, always cheering on his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys.

Jimmy was a beloved father, brother, mentor, and friend.

He is survived by his daughter, Jessica Walker and fiancé Malik Easton, his brother, Dickey and Linda Walker, nephew (more like brother) Bret Walker, his very close friends Justin and Ernestine Thibodeaux, many Neices and Nephews, and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Dennis and Easter May Walker, his daughter, Jamie Walker, sister, Mary Veber, brother Eugene Walker, and sister, Margret Mosley. Those who knew Jimmy will remember his kind heart, love for life, sense of humor, and unwavering loyalty to those he cared about. He was cherished by many, and his presence will be deeply missed.

"My father was the hardest working most loving dependable fun-loving man that I have ever met. I am so very honored to have been able to call him my father. He will be forever missed but I take great comfort in knowing he's finally back with my beloved sister Jamie." - Jessica Walker

His Brother Dickey would like to say from his family: “We loved Jimmy so much and will truly miss him. But we know he is back with family in heaven. RIP dear brother. “
