JEROME “LIL PLANET” ROMERO (JERRY), 38, a resident of Chimayo and originally of Santa Fe, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2016 with his loving family at his side following a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his beautiful daughter, Baby J. Romero; father, Jerry “Pappa Planet” Romero; aunt, Susie Romero; baby brother, Jesse James Romero; paternal grandparents, Jose and Delfinia Romero; maternal grandmother, Louise Armijo and friend, Ike Trujillo. Jerry loved his family; he did everything and anything for his wife, children and mother. He enjoyed fishing, camping and four wheeling with his family. He had the biggest heart and would help anybody in need no matter the circumstances. He took pride in turning his happy house into a loving home. They say there is a reason. They say that time will heal. But neither time nor reason will ever change the way we feel. You taught us to never waste our lives trying to be what others expect us to be. To never Sacrifice our happiness to make anyone else happy and to never give up on our dreams. Mr. Romero is survived by his wife, Jami Romero; daughters, Anjelica Romero and Larry Luna, Gabriella Romero and Michael Tafoya, Jayden Romero and Pablo Torrez, and Justice and Jeri Faith Romero; son, Lucas Salazar; mother, Mary Jane Romero; mother-in-law, Erneda Espinoza; sisters, Jill Romero, Michelle Quintana and husband Billy, and Rachel Benavidez; brothers, Joseph Armijo and wife Gretchen, Michael Quintana and wife Monique and Jason Romero; sisters-in-law, Jessica Garcia and husband Anthony, Yvette Sandoval and husband Patrick, and April Espinoza; brother-in-law, Michael Sandoval; special nieces, Samantha Garcia, Marina and Sabrina Varela; cousin, Frank Romero who he loved like a brother and numerous other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Serving the family as pallbearers, Anthony “Nano” Garcia, Jason Romero, Marina Varela, Sabrina Varela, Jill Romero, Frank Romero, Michael Quintana, Johnny Rascon and Thomas Salazar. Honorary pallbearers named are, Jelica, Gabby, Jay, Bubbaz, Lucs, Jeri Faith, Sammi Girl, Mal, Sefie, Michael, Lina, Arry, Gracie, Dill Pickle, Ricky Rago, Jer, Kela, Jesse Jane and Candyman.
