Jeremy Ortiz, Born September 4, 1976, passed on to his eternal home on November 25, 2015. He was preceded in death by his father, Alex Ortiz; and his maternal grandparents, Jake and Josephine Alarid. Jeremy is survived by his loving mother, Bernadette Alarid; his children, Kaylee and Tyler Ortiz; his brother, Jonathan Ortiz; niece, Aspen Ortiz, and nephew Isaiah Ortiz; his paternal grandparents, Cristobal and Sabinita Ortiz; many uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends. Jeremy followed in the tradition of his family and was a well-known wood carver. Some of his works are on display at the Folk Art Museum in Santa Fe. He was a kind and loving person who always greeted you with a smile. His children were his pride and joy. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Serving the family as Pall Bearers are his cousins, Adam Alarid, Gabriel Alarid, Eric Lucero, Andres Valdez, Jacob Serrano, Dennis Alarid, Chris Ortiz, and Andrew Ortiz. Honorary Pall Bearers are his niece and nephew, Isaiah and Aspen Ortiz; Ashley Johnson, Bennie A. Salazar, Paula Johnson, Aliyah Lopez, Elmer V. Lucero Jr., Jake I Alarid, Ralph Alarid Sr.; Johnny Alarid, Jerry Alarid, Ralph, Andrew Alarid, Danielle Gallegos and William Alarid. Public visitation will begin on Monday, November 30, 2015 at 6:45 p.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada, with a rosary to be recited 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Private burial will take place at a later date.
