Jennie Romero

Jennie P. Romero, 89, a resident of Truchas Passed away on Saturday December 30, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Flavio Romero; children, Candie Romero, Viola Velarde, Timoteo Romero; grandsons, Adrian and Timmy Jr. Romero; parents, Bill, and Predicanda Panas; brothers, Henry, Melecio, and Jose Panas; sister, Cordelia Cordova; and In-Laws, Elaisa, Augustine, and Ernestina. Jennie loved to crochet, make blankets, dance, cook, and bake. Traveling always made her happy. Her biggest joy was taking care of her loving grandson Johnny. She loved to spend time with her family, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her children, Clorindo Romero (Yolanda), Billy Romero, Gilbert Romero (Barbara), Joe Romero (Cecilia), Stella Valdez (Leroy), Sandra Rodriguez (Roger), and Jackie Romero (Larry); daughter-in-law, Jenny Romero; son-In-law, Joe Velarde; special grandson whom she helped raise, Johnny Lopez; sisters-in-Law, Eloisa Rodriguez, and Carmen Panas, and numerous other grandchildren,  great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with the rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Truchas. Burial will be held at Los Llanitos Catholic Cemetery also in Truchas. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Stella Valdez, Felix Rodriguez, Billy, Larry, Christopher, Joe, Gilbert, and David Romero. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of her grandchildren. The family of Jennie P. Romero has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
