Jennie - age 60 - El Duende Atencio

Jennie Atencio, 60, a resident of El Duende passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, November 4, 2014. She was preceded in death by her sons, Joseph and Randy Atencio; grandmother, Lupe Salazar, paternal grandparents, Blaus Maestas; father, Jose Miguel Maestas, mother, Mary Frances Salazar; grandson, Zachary Atencio; sister, Joann Maestas, brothers, Lencho Maestas, Tony Salazar, and Leo Gonzales; uncle, Felipe Salazar, Gilbert Maestas, aunt, Rosina Pacheco; nephew, Michael Gonzales, niece, Rosemary (Weda) Gonzales. Mrs. Atencio is survived by her husband, Lolo Atencio of El Duende; daughters, Lee Carmona and husband Jorge, Krisista Naranjo and husband Sammy all of El Duende and Janet Trujillo of Hernandez; grandsons that were like her sons, Sammy Lawrence Naranjo, III, and Eric Carmona both of El Duende; sisters, Loretta Gonzales and husband Lupe of Colorado, Darlene Maestas and husband Humberto of Alcalde, Joann Avila and husband Rosoleo of Chamita; Ernest and Ida Trujillo of Fairview who were like her parents; grandchildren, Eric, Andrew, Justin, Josalee, Alejandra, and Karina Carmona, Jenay Naranjo, Jeffrey and Brian Atencio all from El Duende, Julian, Jasmin, and Tristan Atencio from Nambe, Jericho Atencio, Katelynn and Peter Casados from Hernandez, great-grandchildren, Natalie Kaylee Carmona form El Duende, Noah Carmona; aunt Eloisa; padrinos David and Clarabelle Martinez from Alcalde, Ruth Lucero from Chamita, and numerous other relatives and friends. Devotional service will be held on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Victory Faith Church in Española. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Victory Faith Church. The family of Jennie Atencio has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
