Jeff Martinez

JEFF L. MARTINEZ, 50, a lifelong resident of the Espanola area passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, Enrique and Beatrice Martinez; maternal grandparents, Desiderio and Clorinda Quintana, paternal grandparents, Pablo and Marinasia Martinez. Jeff was a fun spirited and happy person who was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.  He began working at a very young age of 15. His first job was with McDonalds where he quickly became a shift manager. Right out of high school he began working at LANL in property management, then later went on to work at Buffalo Thunder Casino where he made many friends as his infectious personality was a hit with his customers. Jeff had a work ethic unlike any other, he loved working. Jeff also loved music and dancing. Our beloved Jeff will be greatly missed.  He is survived by the love of his life Sally Martinez; stepson, Rico Leichtle; siblings, Barbara Garcia (David), Leroy (Nadine), Harold, Patricia, and Kathleen Martinez, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles; Godparents, Silviano and Elsie Quintana and his Godson, Eugenio Valdez. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home and Crematory, followed by a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 29, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada in Santa Cruz with a burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers are Adam, Ryan, Nicholas, and Joey Martinez, Derrek and Roosevelt Garcia, honorary pallbearers named are Brandon Martinez, Lillie Archuleta and Vangie Martinez.
