Jeannie M. Vasquez, age 62, a resident of Espanola, On March 20, 2015 our beautiful angel was called to heaven after a lengthy illness. Jeannie lived her life to build a strong and happy family and was surrounded by them during her passing. She was preceded in death by her daddy, Jesus Martinez; sister, Terry Rodriguez; parents-in-law, Jose and Mary Vasquez, sister-in-law, Lourdes Garcia and brother-in-law, Moises Lujan. Jeannie was many things to many people; a daughter, a sister, a friend, but the titles she cherished most were wife, momma and grandma. Her family was the pride and joy of her life. She was a best friend to her husband and her kids and will forever live on in them. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Joe E. Vasquez of Arroyo Seco; son and future daughter-in-law, Joseph Vasquez and Kala Hunter of Denver, CO; daughter and son-in-law, Felice and Eric Balliet of Ashburn, VA; Mother, Bernie Martinez; Sister, Pauline Martinez; Brother, Eddie (Julie) Martinez; Brother-in-law, John Rodriguez; Sisters-in-law, Rosana Lujan and Elena (Gera) Marquez; Uncle and Aunt, Don and Shirley Crafton. Jeannie will always be the very proud grandma to her precious Gabriela Balliet. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Cremation will follow the services, and the interment will take place at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Serving as pallbearers for the family are her God-sons, Jeff Rodriguez and Lucas Jacquez; Jeremiah Jacquez, Jeremy Rodriguez, Ben Chan and Rodney Casados, Jr. The Honorary Pall bearer is Gabriela Balliet. The family has entrusted the care of this beautiful life to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of Espanola Valley.\r\n
