Jeanette E. Age - 60 - Espanola Martinez

Jeanette E. Martinez, 60, of Española was born on May 16, 1951, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at her home. Jeanette worked for the State of New Mexico for many years. She most recently worked for CYFD – Office of Child Development for over 17 years. Her co-workers who have been like a second family to her will miss her intelligence, nurturing, good work ethic and her ability to find just the right words to say whatever the circumstances. Jeanette loved to garden, read and play with her dogs. Over the years, Jeanette rescued many dogs and provided them with a loving home. Jeanette will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and her wonderful sense of humor. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ramona Luttrell. Jeanette is survived by her son, David Martinez; sisters: Judy Montoya and Janice Zoller; brother, John Luttrell; favorite cousin, Anita Esquibel; several nieces/nephews: Rob and Rick Montoya, Kim Gonzales, Nana Montoya, Marcus and Crystal Lujan; grand nieces/nephews: Jacqueline, Alyssa, Anthony Montoya; Esperanza and Elena Montoya; Vidal and Mariposa Gonzales, Arianna and Vincent Montoya, Aliyah Lujan, Marcus Apodaca Lujan, Riley Lujan; Ryan Lujan-Taylor. Public visitation will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. A second rosary will be recited on Friday, March 23, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at La Igelsia de Santa Cruz de la Canada with Mass of Christian burial to follow at 2:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery with a reception to follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Arroyo Seco. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Jeanette’s name to the women’s shelter of your choice. The family of Jeanette E.
