Jason Michael Gutierrez , 43, a resident of Santa Clara Pueblo, was born on August 15, 1975 to Margaret Eleanor Atkinson and Joe A. Naranjo. A 1995 Espanola High School graduate. He was a wild land fire fighter with NPA for several years and later he worked with Santa Clara Pueblo for 10 plus years as a Tribal Ranger. He was also known to all of us as the biggest Dallas Cowboy Fan and KISS rock band fan. He was blessed with his beautiful daughter, Mikayla in January 2005 whom he held close to his heart. He loved the outdoors, fishing and cruising the mountains. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Frank Gutierrez Sr.; paternal grandparents, Ernest and Elizabeth Naranjo, God-parents, Albert and Ursilita Naranjo; sister, Jayna Naranjo; aunts, Candy Naranjo, Alfonsa Owen, and Gloria Joyce YBack; uncles, Ernest (Duck) Naranjo, and Nestor Naranjo; cousins, Jeremy and Neal Naranjo. Mr. Gutierrez is survived by his daughter, Mikayla Gutierrez; mother, Margaret Eleanor Atkinson; father, Joe A. Naranjo; step-mother, Louise; brothers, Billy and Chris Atkinson; sister, Tana and little brother, Reyes; dearest nieces, Monica and Destiny Atkinson; nephew, Joseph Zoss; great-nephew, Ryan Salazar; God-son, Deion Atkinson and great-niece, Cassidy Olguin and other numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives. The family of Jason Gutierrez thanks everyone for their prayers, donations, and comfort in this time of grief. The family of Jason Michael Gutierrez has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
