Janet “Suzie” Boulden, born March 28, 1947, died peacefully at her home on Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Her untimely death was a result of terminal cancer.
Suzie was preceded in death by her Father, Hogul, Mother, Juanita; sisters, Charlene and Sheri; and Grandson, Logan Collins. She is survived by daughters, Tonya Collins of White Rock, NM and Susan Dukat of Larkspur, CO; Stepson Steven Boulden of Carlsbad, NM; and Life Partner, Delbert Pederson of Los Alamos, NM, as well as a large extended family and many loving grandchildren.
Suzie, through perseverance and spirit of hard work, established and operated for 35 years her home based dog grooming business which grew into a Los Alamos “institution” among dog owners, many of whom became close friends as well as loyal customers.
In 2002, Suzie added a new chapter to her life by becoming a professional Tax Preparer for H&R Block and became in this endeavor, highly respected by peers and clients for her competency, knowledge and work ethic.
Among her many interests and talents was a love of slow pitch softball. Not only playing but sponsoring a many times winning team in local league play. She also became passionate about scrapbooking and making her own greeting cards. Sharing this passion with her daughters, the 3 spending the occasional 48 hour all-nighter weekend scrapbooking, girl talk and junk food. This was her definition of a good time.
Suzie was practical, hardworking and had her feet planted very firmly on the ground. A good woman, a good Mother, Grandmother and friend who will be long remembered and sorely missed by many.
