James Geraldo - age 2 months - Ohkay Owingeh Cordova

James Geraldo Cordova, 2 months old, a resident of El Duende, passed away unexpected on Saturday, December 21, 2013. James was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, James Herrera, paternal great grand-mother, Tessie Cordova; great uncle Felipe R. Apodaca; maternal great-grandparents Alfonso and Gertrude Olivas, maternal great-grandfather, Pantaleon Herrera. James was born in October and in the short two months he was with us he brought so much joy to his parents, siblings, and grandparents. He was a happy baby, James brought so many people together that hadn’t seen each other in years, his family loved that he was so gentle and cuddly. We will forever remember the proud parents he made us and the joy that he brought to us all. James is survived by his parents, Geraldo Cordova and Deanna Herrera of El Duende; sister, Jazlyn Cordova of Santa Fe, brother, Fidel Geraldo Cordova of Santa Fe; maternal grandmother, Della Herrera of El Duende, Paternal grandparents, Fidel and Dorothy Cordova of Santa Fe; maternal aunts, Jaydean Cisneros and husband Will of Utah, uncles, Davey and Jeremy Herrera of El Duende, paternal uncle, Joaquin Cordova and wife Andrea of Albuquerque; maternal cousin, Brandon Cisneros of Utah, and paternal cousin, Elicia Cordova of Albuquerque, maternal great-grandmother Sabinita Herrera, paternal great-grandmother Emma Gonzales, and numerous other uncles, aunts, and cousins. Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Española. The family of James Cordova has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley. \r\n \r\n
