Jamein Gallegos

d. December 21, 2020

Jamein (Jay) Gallegos-  Jamein Diego Gallegos (Jay), a lifelong resident of Chama, NM went to be with our Lord on December 21, 2020 at the age of 42 after battling a lengthy illness. Jamein was born on May 3, 1978 to Vicente and Rose Gallegos of Chama, NM. He had many passions in life and loved his family dearly. He had a passion for flying, building model airplanes, reading, and journaling. Jay loved fishing with his friends and his youngest son Jay-Jay. Most importantly he loved his heavenly Father. His walk with Christ was very important to him. “I have a friend that will NEVER give up on me. Who will ALWAYS be by my side. His great name is JESUS” was one of his favorite quotes. Jamein was a Wildland Firefighter in his early 20’s. On December 11, 2004, he became the recipient of a heart transplant at the age of 24. In 2006 he represented the state of New Mexico in the National Transplant Olympics. Jay didn’t let his illness define nor defeat him. He had the courage and strength of a lion, a true WARRIOR!
