The family is saddened to announce the passing of Jimmy Jake Serrano, known as “Frog” by so many. Jimmy earned his Angel wings on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at the age of 69, after a 7-year battle with Cancer.️️
Jimmy was born in Espanola, New Mexico on August 18, 1953, to Henry and Rosemarie Serrano. Jimmy was baptized at Holy Cross Church and will make his final decent into heaven there on Saturday, March 25, 2023. 🕊️
Jimmy was well known for his athletic ability and basketball stardom at Espanola Valley High School and NM Highlands University. 🏀 It was there that Jimmy made close friends he’d later call family. ❤️
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Rosemarie Serrano. Brother, Henry Serrano. Sister, Lorraine Serna. Brother in-laws; Tom Ortiz and Chris Herrera. Sister in-law; Evila Serrano. Nieces; Jennifer and Christiana Vigil.
Jimmy was survived by his daughter, Leandra Rose Serrano (Shawn). Brother; Gilbert Serrano (Carmen). Sisters; Lydia Ortiz, Patricia Herrera and Jeannie Padilla. Nieces; Rose Serrano, Lyn Serrano (Lea), Anna Liza Hérrera and Ashlynne Padilla. Nephews; Tom Ortiz, Josh Padilla, Leon Serna, Loren Serna, Karlo Serrano, Jacob Serrano and Christopher Serrano. Brother in-laws; Tim Padilla and Lalo Serna.
Jimmy especially adored his only child and sole guardian, Leandra Rose Serrano age 34 of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Jimmy also adored his girlfriend of 7 years, Patricia Wilson of Denver, Colorado. Jimmy shared 32 years of marriage with his ex-wife and mother of his child, Karen Trujillo-Montoya (Ivan), of Santa Fe, New Mexico.
