Jacob R. - Age 24 - Chimayo Sanchez

Jacob R. Sanchez – Age 24 a resident of Chimayo passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 17, 2012. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Corpentino and Lupita Vigil; maternal uncle, Nelson Vigil; cousin, Antonio Vigil; paternal uncle, Walter Sanchez; uncle/Godfather, Leon Sanchez and special friend who was like a brother, Jesus Martinez. Jacob was a spiritual person who loved God; he was also a very caring person who loved his family and friends with all his heart. He always made it a point to tell them to be careful. Jacob also loved and missed his grandfather Corpentino very much and was never the same since his passing. Jacob loved his mother and was her shadow wherever she was he was sure to be there also; he was also very close to and loved his father, their favorite thing to do was going out to breakfast. Jacob loved his only nephew, Jasiah Sanchez and his brother Jonathan with all his heart they were his world and brought him a lot of joy and happiness. Jacob will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his parents: Lupita and Leonard Sanchez of Chimayo; brother, Jonathan Sanchez and companion Lorencita Martinez of Chimayo; nephew, Jasiah Sanchez of Chimayo; aunt/God-mother, Janet Sanchez of Santa Fe; maternal grandmother, Floraida Vigil of Chimayo; paternal grandparents: Tony and Margaret Sanchez of Guachupangue; special aunt, Eufemia Cordova and companion Fidel Romero of Alcalde; paternal aunts: Socorro Sanchez and husband Marvin of Rio Chama and Julie Sanchez and husband Danny of Placitas; maternal aunts: Vivian Koteen and husband Ralph of Albuquerque and Lucille Salazar and companion Delfinio of Las Vegas, NV; aunts: Isabell Archuleta and husband Donald of Valley Estates and Nora Baca and husband Joe of Chimayo; uncles: Wally Vigil and wife Antoinette of El Llano, Gerald Vigil and wife Batrice of Chimayo, Mark Vigil and wife Angela of Chimayo, Corpy Vigil and companion Mary Lou of Chimayo, Charlie Martinez and wife Gloria of Chimayo and Lee Roy Martinez and wife Marie of Santa Fe; special friends: Gene and Donna Sanchez of Arroyo Seco; and numerous other loving relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Friday, November 23, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. at the Victory Faith Church in Española with a devotional service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Burial to follow at the Nuestra Señora de Dolores Catholic Cemetery in Chimayo with the following serving as pallbearers: Jerome Cordova, Ernie Vigil, Pablo Vigil, Wilfredo Salazar, Kendrick Sanchez, Marcos Sanchez and Jasiah Sanchez. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Rhiana Cordova, Neil Sandoval, Alfredo Aguilar, Kenneth Wheeler, Jose Diaz, Andrew Abeyta, Jesse Moya, Flaymon Sandoval, Gene Sanchez, Jacob Ruiz and Josh Roybal, Terrance Vigil, Lucas Vigil, Jacob Martinez and Mario Trujillo. The family of Jacob R. Sanchez has entrusted the care of their beloved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
