Isidro J. (Jake) - age 92 - Española Maestas

Isidro J. (Jake) Maestas, 92, a resident of Española, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aurelia and Escolastico Maestas; siblings, Ruben and Clovis. Jake will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Jake is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Lourdes; children, Mary and husband Ignacio, Jose (J) and wife Mary, Marie and husband Tim, Cindy and husband Michael, Joseph and wife Pamela, Nadine and husband David, Gloria and fiancée Ron, adopted daughter, Antonia Sandoval; sisters, Stella Maestas and husband Mariano of Chili, Adela Lopez of Roswell and Elvira Munoz of Superior, Arizona; grandchildren, Yvette (Thomas), Aaron (Donna), Michelle, Justin Michael (April), Michael, Stephanie (Shayne), Jaylene, Nathan, Brittni, Justin Andrew, Amanda, Alicia and Grace, great-grandchildren, Dionicio, Ethan, Hannah, Alejandro, Diego, Liam, Brayden, Charlotte, and Cole. Public visitation will begin on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Española with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 3, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. also at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Española. Burial to follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving the family as pallbearers, Ignacio, Tim, Mike, David, Ron, and Justin. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorials be made to his church, Sacred Heart Parish in Española. The family of Isidro Jake Maestas has entrusted their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
