ISABEL A. SANCHEZ, 65, a resident of Cordova went to be with our Lord on Saturday, May 18, 2019 surrounded by her family following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Remijio and Adelia Torrez; father-in-law, Dennis Sanchez; sister, Maria Floy Medart and husband Ralph; brothers, Polito and Adeliado Torrez; brothers-in-law, Eloy Lujan, Jesse Cordova, Sammy Cordova, Richard Cooper and Andy and Mary Sanchez; nephews, Ricky and Gerald Torrez. Isabel enjoyed the outdoors especially going to the horse races and spending time in the casino making new friends and enjoying visiting with old friends. She enjoyed participating in children’s sports and always was donating uniforms etc. She will be greatly missed. Isabel is survived by her husband of 41 years, Bobby Sanchez; son, Dwayne Sanchez and wife Reina; grandchildren who were like her children, Dwayne (DJ) Sanchez and fiancé Alyssa, Breanna Sanchez and boyfriend Dino, Justin, Brayden, Tristen whom she loved and cherished very much, great-grandchildren, Adalyn and Owen of Cordova who would have been the joy of her life; ex daughter-in-law, Florance Sanchez and (Leon); mother-in-law, Carol Sanchez of Los Alamos; brothers, Gilbert (Erlinda)Torrez, Rowdy Torrez (Victoria), Lawrence (Nina) Torrez all of Cordova, sisters, Cloriada Sanchez (Arturo), Betty Torrez (Vicente) all of  Cordova, Julia Cooper of Oklahoma, Susie Cordova of Cundiyo, Belinda (Delbert) Roybal of El Rancho, Cathy Cordova of Cordova; sisters-in-law, Alicia  Torrez of Cordova and LouAnn (Albert) Gonzales of Los Alamos, ex sister-in-law, Rachael of Farmington; niece, Valerie Torrez Trujillo whom she took part in raising, and many nieces, nephews, God-daughter, God-sons, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace. A rosary will be recited on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 7:45 p.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Public visitation will begin on Friday, May 24, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Burial to follow at the Cordova Cemetery with the following serving the family as pallbearers; Dwayne, Sr., Dwayne, Jr, Justin, Freddie, JD Roybal, Marty, Rowdy, Anthony, and Andrew. Honorary pallbearers are, Breanna and Dino and Owen, Alyssa, Adalyn, Brayden, Tristen, Florence and Leon. The family of Isabel A. Sanchez has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
