Irene Medina

IRENE B. MEDINA, 72, a life time resident of Cordova, passed away Friday, January 5, 2018 peacefully surrounded by her loving family beside her. She was preceded in death by her three children; Andrew, Renee, Wally Medina and Jerome Rodarte which she considered her son; parents, Gordon and Adonelia Pacheco, Siblings, Teddy Valeriano, Lorraine, Mida, and Charlene; father-in-law, Archie Medina; and other nephews. Irene is survived by her love of her life her husband, Andy Medina; grandson, Andres Roger Medina and companion Janet of Albuquerque, Abigail Rodarte which she raised like a granddaughter; siblings, Joe Romero (Betty), Armando Pacheco (Polita), Mildred Aguilar (Louie), Jake Pacheco, Pauline Garcia (Edwin), and Ruth Lucero; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Medina (Eva), Ralph Medina, Sammy Medina (Eileen), Billy Medina; sister-in-law, Diana and Vangie Medina and many nieces, nephews, friends and family. Irene was a famous wood-carver known for her unique Santos and Retablos. Her Artwork was displayed in many Galleries in Santa Fe and High Road Tours. She enjoyed attending the Spanish Market and displaying her work. Irene enjoyed traveling and doing carpentry work with her husband. She was a caring, loving person always putting others needs before hers. Irene will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to thank everyone for their support by bringing her food, phone calls, loving thoughts and prayers. Public Visitation will begin on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, followed with a Devotional Service at 7:00 p.m.  Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel, with a burial to follow at the Cordova Catholic Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Andres Medina, Jessie Medina, Isaiah Medina, Tanya Rodarte, Genevieve Fernandez and Matthew Barela, honorary pallbearers will be all her nieces and nephews.
