IGNACITA “AGNES” JACQUEZ, 68, a resident of Española, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan I. Jacquez; parents, Alejandro and Ignacita Herrera; brothers, Isaac C. Herrera, Octaviano “Toby” Herrera and Elipio “Eppie” Herrera; nephew, Patrick Herrera and sister-in-law, Liova Herrera; father and mother-in-law, Maximiliano and Trinidad Jacquez; brother-in-law, Carlos Jacquez; sisters-in-law, Virginia Serrano and Vivian Salazar. Agnes was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She worked at Mervyn’s for 23 years. Agnes was known as the queen of home fashions and was dedicated to her job. She loved spending time with her sister, friends and neighbors and especially her grandchildren. She always had a smile on her face and a carefree attitude. Mrs. Jacquez is survived by her daughters, Janelle Jacquez and Carmella Salinas and husband Aaron; grandchildren, Hannah, Claudia, Marisa and Alejandro “Bubs”; sister, Asencion “Joan” Martinez and husband Albert; special niece, Julie Pacheco and husband Nicholas; special nephews: Robert Martinez and Isaac Herrera and wife Bianca; sisters-in-law, Olympia and Covie Herrera, Sylvia Middleton, Mary Espinoza, Trinnie Sellars and Isabel Lucero; brother-in-law, Chris Jacquez, Frank Jacquez and wife Loyola, Uvaldo Jacquez and Phillip Jacquez and wife Lita and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Monday, March 7, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Burial to follow at the Gallina Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, George Gutierrez, Chris Rosacker, Robert Martinez, Leopoldo Trujillo, Ryan Fresquez and Nicholas Pacheco.
