IGNACIA “GRANDMA PANDO” VIALPANDO, 95, a resident of Alcalde, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, April 30, 2012. She was a devout catholic who dedicated her life to her family. She was very well known for her vivacious personality and character and was loved by many. She was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio Jose and Catarina Lara Vialpando; brothers, Bonifacio, Dr. Roberto, Edwardo, Teodorito (the first) and Teodorito (the second) Vialpando; sister, Louisa Sanchez; son-in-law, Frank Baros. Grandma Pando is survived by her sons, Joe “Felo Vialpando” Gallegos and wife Eloisa and Vince Baros and wife Tracy; daughters, Helen Baros and Carmen Ceballes and husband David; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Public visitation will be held on Friday, May 4, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Alcalde with burial to follow at Alcalde Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Vince Baros, Sr., Matthew and Thomas Vigil, Vince Baros, Jr., Eli Martinez, Jr. and Charles Lehman III. Honorary pallbearers named are, Joshua and Caleb Nichols, Noah, Ava and Ethan Gallegos and Ron Perea.
