Idalia N. "Lola" Age - 86 El Rito Herrera

Idalia N. “Lola” Herrera – Age 86 a resident of El Rito passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2011. Lola worked at the VA Hospital in Albuquerque for 20 years before retiring in 1971 and moved back home to El Rito to care for her parents. She was a wonderful loving daughter, sister and auntie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Miguel & Perfecta Herrera; sister, Leocadia Herrera; brothers: Fermin Herrera, Alex Herrera, Moises Herrera, Cruz Herrera; sisters-in-law: Ophelia Herrera, Mary Herrera, Julia Herrera; brother-in-law, Albert Manzanares. Lola is survived by her brothers: Rudy F. Herrera of El Rito, Joe H. Herrera and wife Mae of Denver, CO; sister, Erminia Manzanares of Albuquerque. Public visitation will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, January 7, 2011 at the San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church in El Rito with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church in El Rito with burial to follow at Placitas Cemetery in El Rito with the following serving as pallbearers: Jesse Herrera, Kevin Callesen, Eric Manzanares, Estevan Archuleta, Felix Herrera and Gary Herrera; honorary pallbearers: Vicente Herrera, Ray Montoya, John Manzanares and Michael Herrera.
