Ida Marie Madrid

Ida Madrid went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 27, 2023.  Ida loved her family sincerely and she enjoyed cooking their favorite foods for them, after she was done indoors she spent a considerable amount of time outside tending to her yard and enjoyed the blooms of her flowers in the spring and summer.  Ida enjoyed road trips with her husband Alex to visit family both in Colorado and Coyote.  Ida showed a lot of love towards her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family members.  Ida was a wonderful individual and will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents Manuel and Selida Morfin; her husband Alex Madrid; her grandchildren Beth and Gary Jr.; her siblings Linda Garcia, Thomas, Josue, Fermin and Angie Morfin.

Ida is survived by her children Dolores, Gilbert and Andrew Madrid who they raised like a son from a very young age. Ida's siblings Fidelia Gurule and Benito (Annette) Morfin; grandchildren Dominic, Allen Jr., Alexia and Dylan Madrid; great grandchildren Elijah, King, Andres, Ryder, Esme, Ellie, Yeshua and Chevelle.  Also survived by several Godchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family members. 

An expression of gratitude to Mary Ann Lujan for the valued efforts and her assistance with Ida in her time of need.  Her willingness to help whether daytime or nighttime does not go unnoticed.  Her support towards Ida during Ida's ailment and failing health gave Ida the confidence and assurance that she would be well taken care of.  

A very special, “Thank You” to all of Ida’s caregivers and those individuals at Del Corazon for your support, your guidance and encouragement.  A warm hug to Virginia Garcia, a close friend of Ida’s.

A special thanks for your visits with Ida, she truly enjoyed that time with you, every minute of it, the memories you shared and the laughter that you had.  A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.  Laughter is a gift from God.  Laughter is a great way to stay encouraged.  Proverbs 17:22

A Rosary will be recited on Monday, July 10, 2023, at 11:30 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Espanola, NM, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 12:00 pm.  Burial will take place at the family plot. 

Serving as Pallbearers are Dylan Madrid, Andrew Madrid, Glenn Baca, Shawn Gallegos, Bruce Gallegos and Solomon Martinez.

Honorary Pallbearers are David Lujan, Adam Valerio, Billy Morfin, Toby Morfin, Manny Morfin, Manuel Morfin and Leon Gurule.
