Ida - Age 88 - Abiquiu - Archuleta

IDA ARCHULETA, 88, a resident of Abiquiu, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2013 to join her beloved husband, Bernardo. Ida was deeply faithful and an active member de La Sociedad de San Jose de San Antonio, La Sagrada Familia, and Ayudanta de La Morada de Moqui. In her youth, Ida worked at Libby’s and Del Monte in California and after returning to New Mexico, she worked for many years for Georgia O’Keefe and at the Ghost Ranch. She was a very talented woman who enjoyed weaving, crocheting, making jewelry and pottery, but one of her greatest joys was her gardens especially her roses. Ida was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Bernardo; parents, Belarmino and Agapita T. Lopez; 2 sisters and 6 brothers. Mrs. Archuleta is survived by her daughters, Virginia Lopez and husband Juan, Rosita Archuleta and companion Ostalio; sons: Jerry Archuleta and wife Nora, Bernardo Archuleta and wife Kari; brother-in-law, Remigio Archuleta and sister-in-law, Candelaria Lopez. One of Ida’s greatest joys was spending time with her 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and her many friends. Ida and her husband, Bernardo, provided a loving home to their children and extended this love as they also raised their nephew, Max and grandson, Mario. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. at the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Abiquiu with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. also at the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Abiquiu. Burial to follow at the St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Christopher Dominovich, Anthony Archuleta, Daniel Archuleta, Joel Dominguez, Ostalio Archuleta, Joe E. Lopez, Fermin Lopez and Branden Dominovich. The family of Ida Archuleta has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
