Hilbert V. Archuleta, 64, a wonderful husband, dad, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend, a resident of Santa Cruz passed away after a short illness on Tuesday, November 22, 2011. Hilbert was born on July 22, 1947. Hilbert was born and raised in El Rito, NM. He served in the United States Army. Hilbert married Lucinda, the love of his life and raised 2 children, Cindy and Glenn. He worked as a Lt. for Los Alamos Fire Dept., and then worked at Kirtland Air Force base. Hilbert was a rancher all his life. He loved being in the mountains, camping, herding cattle and riding horses. He was a true cowboy! Hilbert loved retirement. He will be greatly missed; Hilbert was well known and liked, and had many friends and cousins! He loved his parents and was a good son. Hilbert was close with all his brothers and sisters; he had a special relationship with his grandchildren, nephews and nieces. He was a great dad very caring and loving. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Beatrice Archuleta; father-in-law, Gregorio Mondragon; sister, Charlene Martinez; sisters-in-law: Roberta Mondragon and Loretta Montoya; brothers-in-law: Juan Quintana, Joe Lopez and James Lovato; niece, Amanda Archuleta and Razelle Velez; nephew, Ricky Martinez. He is survived by his wife Lucinda of 43 years ; daughter, Cindy (Pete); son, Glenn (Victoria); grandchildren: Kasandra (Ray), Amada, Alejandro, Jaylen, Azalea and Justin; brothers/sisters: Celerino (Tillie), Marie Lopez, Gladys (John), Peter (Pearl), Marlene (Juan), Fred (Jeanette), Isidora (Steve), Louie Martinez, Rusty Guillen (Rita) and Pete Sanchez (Berlinda); in-laws: Antonia Quintana, Gabe (Helen), Rose (Rose) and Joseph Montoya; and numerous other loving relatives & friends. Public visitation will be held on Friday, November 25, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at San Juan de Nepomuceno in El Rito with a rosary to follow at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada with burial to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Celerino, Peter, Fred, Rusty, Pete S. and Ray; honorary pallbearers: Kasandra, Jaylen, Alejandro, Francisco, Pancho, Alfred, Donald, Charles and Johnny.
