Henry Age - 55 Salazar

Henry J. Salazar, 55, was born on May 23, 1957 and on December 13, 2012, surrounded by his children and loving family went home to be with the Lord, after a short illness.\r\nHenry graduated from Española High School in 1975 where he was an outstanding basketball player. Henry was involved in all sports in the Valley, particularly umpiring baseball and softball. He served as the announcer at Sundevil games both in football and basketball as he was a loyal follower of all Sundevil sports.\r\nHenry was preceded in death by his father, Bernardino “Piza” Salazar, his maternal grandparents, Enrique and Anita Guillen, his paternal grandparents, Damian and Theresa Salazar, his nephew, Bernardino “Dino” Padilla along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is survived by his children, Jeremy Lee and Lindsey Marie Salazar of Albuquerque, his mother Rebecca Guillen Salazar, his siblings Terry Flores and husband Jim, June Leyba, Maynard Salazar and wife Mary. Ten loving nephews and nieces; Justin Gaussoin, James and Janaka Flores, David Padilla and wife Felicia, Marcus and Brittani Leyba, Vidal and Enrique Salazar, the mother of his children Chrissy Salazar Akes, God-mother, Mellie Kain, God-son, Caleb Mendoza; uncles and aunts Elmer Guillen (Frances), Clarabelle Villareal, Matilda Guillen, Bette Guillen, many other cousins, relatives, and friends.\r\nHenry’s family wants to give special thanks to Kenny Maestas, and Joe Garcia who were always there for him especially during his recent illness. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Alcalde with Mass of Christian burial to be recited at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow at the Alcalde Catholic Cemetery.\r\nHonorary pallbearers named are all his nephews, Kenny Maestas, Joe Garcia, Frank (Pancho) Galvez, Joe Guillen, Ivan Guillen, Mark Villareal, Ken Villareal, Gerard Lujan, Herbert Trujillo and his many friends. \r\nThe family of Henry J. Salazar have entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
