Santa Fe

It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Henry Isidoro "LoLo" Roybal who was called home by our heavenly father on January 1, 2025.

LoLo was born on January 25, 1947, to Jose Pablo and Julia Roybal in Jaconita in the Pojoaque Valley community in New Mexico. He attended school in Pojoaque and was drafted to the United States Army in 1967 and served in the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1969 in the heavy artillery. LoLo married the love of his life, Amelia Archuleta, in October 1967. They were married for 57 years and had four sons; Henry P. Roybal, Phillip Roybal, Randy Roybal and Daniel Roybal. After LoLo returned from Vietnam he finished his military commitment in Fort Bliss, Texas, then lived in California until 1973 when he and Amelia became homesick and returned to their hometown of Pojoaque. LoLo worked for three years with the Painters' Union in Los Alamos before serving 25 years as a Protective Forces Officer at Los Alamos National Laboratory until 2001 when he was was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and went on medical disability.

LoLo was a very caring and loving father, son, uncle, brother, nephew, Godfather, cousin and friend. He was a kind and generous man who enjoyed fishing and hunting and was always willing to listen and give advice. As a man of few words, his words where always thoughtful, considerate and witty. LoLo had a smile and a laugh that would make everyone feel good along with a twinkle in his eye. His family often spent time joking around with him just to see and hear him laugh. LoLo leaves a great void in our lives and he will be greatly missed until we are reunited.
