Henry Esquibel - Courtesy Announcement

HENRY J. ESQUIBEL, 65, a resident of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2016. Henry was born May 14, 1950 in Española, NM and was raised in Velarde, NM. He is preceded in death by his parents, Melaquias and Rosana (Montoya) Esquibel; parents-in-laws, Erminio and Alejandrina Martinez; brothers, Arturo and Tomasito and sisters, Priscilla and Juanita. Henry served as a humble Vietnam Veteran who earned a Purple Heart, among many other honors, saving the lives of his fellow soldiers as a US Army Ranger, 101st Airborne Division. Henry was a man of honor, wisdom, kindness, joy, laughter, and humor, an inspiration, respected and loved by all; devoted to his wife of 44 years. Henry loved his family more than anything, especially his granddaughters. Henry is survived by his wife, Angela (Martinez) Esquibel; son, Valentine O. and wife Christina (Fouts); son Alex E. and wife Jennifer (Vogel); daughter, Angie P. Esquibel; granddaughters,  Aurora, Gianna, Isabella and Hayden Esquibel; sisters, Anita Valdez, Becky Romero, Cordy Martinez, Ninfa Griego; brother Horace and wife Pablita; special friends, Lou Paxton and Cruz Rivera; so many special nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law; other relatives, friends and his beloved turtle, Turd. Memorial service and burial will be held on Friday, May 27, 2016 at 8:30am at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City, Nevada; followed by a Celebration of Life party at his home. “I am the resurrection and the life.
