Henry Montoya, 90, a resident of Cuyamungue, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, December 29, 2014 after a lengthy illness. Henry was born August 11, 1924 in Cuyamungue. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ramon Montoya and Catalina Montoya; brother, Esquipula, and sister, Veva. During WWII, Henry worked at the CC Camps in Oakland, California. He moved back to New Mexico and began working at Los Alamos National Laboratory as a Laboratory Contractor for Zia. He retired with 31 Years of service. His family has fond memories of him and his and his devotion to them. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Bertha Montoya and their children, Henry Montoya Jr., and wife Maxine, Moises Montoya, daughter, Cathy Borrego and husband John; grandchildren, Nicodemas Montoya and wife Monica, Carl Montoya and wife Yvette, and Jason and Jonathan Borrego; great grandchildren, Shawn Paul, Joshua, and Nathaniel Montoya; brothers, Joe Montoya, Baudino Montoya and wife Avelina, and numerous nephews and nieces. Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pojoaque, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pojoaque, with a burial to follow at the Pojoaque Catholic Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers Jason Borrego, Johnathan Borrego, Nicodemas Montoya, Carl Montoya, Donald Montoya, and Leroy Montoya. The family of Henry Montoya has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.\r\n
