HELEN L. FREEMAN, 82, a resident of Fairview, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Maudie Gordon; husband, Carl Freeman; brother, William Gordon (Sonny) and grandson, Justin Baum. Helen was born on January 4, 1932 in Fairfax, Oklahoma and moved to Española in 1946. Helen and her husband, Carl, owned and operated the Jewel Box Flower Shop & Nursery while raising five children. She loved to cook and feed others. She had numerous friends and loved her family and good neighbors. She had her own private security team “Butch” and “Charlie Brown”. Mrs. Freeman is survived by her children, Clover Baum and husband Lincoln, Dixie White and husband Mark, Nichole Ashlock and husband Kenny, Billy Baum and wife Diana and Richard Baum and wife Mary; grandchildren, Ronnie Wrye and wife Tina, Randell Bell and wife Tawny, Shannon Baum and husband Jeff, Anna Petty, Adam Baum and wife Sabrina, Treavor Earles, William Baum, Amberlee Ashlock and Leslie Baum; great-grandchildren, Shalynn, Diego, Sean, Savannah, Nicolas, Marisol, Ryan, Hector, Nicolas, Priscilla, Corabella and Sevearinea and other relatives and friends. Burial to take place on Monday, August 25, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Billy Baum, Richard Baum, Ken Ashlock, Ron Wrye, Adam Baum and Lincoln Kay.
