Helen Age - 84 - Pojoaque Sanchez

Helen Sanchez, 84, a resident of Pojoaque went to meet Our Lord on Tuesday, September 18, 2012. She was born in Fort Stanton, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Louisa Chavez; husband, Teofilo M. Sanchez, a Bataan Death March Survivor; brothers/sisters: Joseph, Bernice, Ben, Fred, Annie, Marcelina and Cecilia. Helen is survived by one brother, Nick Chavez; brother-in-law, Frank Mier; son, Teofilo “Chito” Sanchez and close friend Geri Quintana; grandchildren: David, Darlene and husband Raul, Phillip and wife Bernadette and Reyecita; 12 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews & other loving relatives & friends. We would like to thank the following near and dear friends who played a part in Helen’s life: Mark and Liz Wray of Santa Fe; and from the Pueblo of Pojoaque the following families: Viarrial, Montoya, Martinez, Montaño, Duran, Rivera and Quintana. She was loved by many and will be missed greatly. Public visitation will be held on Monday, September 24, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada with burial to take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:45 p.m. with the following serving as pallbearers: David Sanchez, Phillip Viarrial, Raul Martinez, Frank Chavez, Michael Lyle Tapia, Gabriel Montoya, Sr.; honorary pallbearers: Joe, Ronnie, Robert, Patrick Chavez and Mark Wray.
