Helen Wilson

Helen A. Wilson, 93, was called home to be with our Lord on April 3, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Anna Bomba; sisters, Eleanor and Irene; brother, Chester; and her children, Elaine and Kenneth. Helen was born to Walter and Anna Bomba in Jermyn, Pennsylvania on August 28, 1924. Her father, Walter and his brother migrated from Poland to the United States. When Helen was a teenager she moved to California to live with her aunt. She met her husband, Cecil Wilson, and later moved to Arroyo Hondo north of Taos. She came to live in Espanola with her two children, Elaine and Kenny. Helen attended Northern New Mexico Community College and obtained an Associate of Arts degree. She worked at the Credit Bureau in Santa Fe. Later she worked as a teacher’s assistant in the Espanola Public Schools. She was honored by the House of Representatives in the State of New Mexico for serving as a volunteer Foster grandparent in Rio Arriba County and also received a certificate of recognition signed by Representative Ben Lujan, Representative Stephen R. Arias and Representative Debbi A. Rodella. Helen is survived by her brother, Leonard Bomba Sr. of North Lawrence, Ohio; grandson, Robert Jaramillo (Emily); two great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Espanola, with the burial to follow at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
