Harold Peña

Harold Peña , 64, a lifelong resident of Servilleta Plaza, passed away peacefully on his Birthday, May 19th, 2019 with his loving family by his side. He was preceded in death by his parents Rudolfo and Bersabe Peña; brother, Rudy Peña Jr.; Father-in-law, Rubel Baldonado Sr.; unborn grand-child Juniper Niño. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Diolynda Peña; children, Nicolas and Crystal Peña of Rio Rancho, NM, Sarah Peña and Daniel Niño of Santa Cruz, NM, Darrius Gallegos of Servilleta; Grandchildren, Lucas, Lucia & Leandro Peña, and twins Donnie & Giovanni Niño; Brothers, Bert and Hilda Peña, Michael Peña and Maryann Trujillo & Henry Peña all of Servilleta; Mother-in-law, Benita Baldonado from El Rito, NM; Aunt Ernestina Lobato from Pueblo, CO; Sisters-in-law, Josephine Gallegos and Gabriel Aldaz from Ojo Caliente, Laura Quintana from Servilleta; Brothers-in-law, Sam and Martha Baldonado from Albuquerque, NM, Rubel Baldonado and Annabelle Martinez from El Rito, NM, Floyd and Priscilla Baldonado from El Rito, Harold and Lisa Baldonado from Los Luceros, NM, John and Mona Baldonado from Loma Alta, CA, and Danny Baldonado from El Rito, NM; God-children, Moises Peña, Leticia Peña and Sam Baldonado Jr.; Close friend, Gideon Santos from Tierra Azul, NM.

Harold was a Union Electrical worker, IBEW 611, for 38 years at the Los Alamos National Laboratories. He was a loving and kind husband, father and grandfather. He was such a great friend to the community and never hesitated to help anyone. He worked hard his entire life to ensure he gave his family the best opportunity to succeed in life. He enjoyed being outdoors irrigating fields, harvesting firewood and picking piñon. He loved to work on cars and could fix anything that was broken. He always had a smile and brought joy to those he was around.

Serving as pallbearers are Bert Peña, Michael Peña, Henry Peña, Moises Peña, Herold Baldonado, Floyd Baldonado, John Baldonado, Sam Baldonado Jr. and Daniel Niño. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Kevin Peña, Sam Baldonado Sr., Rubel Baldonado Jr., and Danny Baldonado and all his Grandchildren.

Public visitation will begin on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of the DeVargas Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, May 24, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church in El Rito, NM, with burial following at the Servilleta Plaza Cemetery. The family of Harold Peña has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
