Harold Leo Knight, 79, of Los Alamos, surrounded by his family, passed away on July 30, 2015 in his home. He was born on November 22, 1935, in Coon Rapids, Iowa from Nick Knight and Anna Davis Knight.
Harold was a hard worker and spent most of his life working for the county of Los Alamos, which he did up until he died, mowing grass at the golf course every morning. He was an excellent husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family dearly. The outdoors was his home away from home, where he enjoyed getting wood, fishing, and taking care of his yard.
He was preceded in death by his parents Nick and Anna Knight and his son Jerry.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Knight of 50 years, his sons Chris Knight and wife Kelly Knight, Steven Knight and wife Meredith Knight, granddaughters Ashley, Mariah, Kendra, Jill, and Felicia Knight, grandsons Derrick, Mitchell, Maverick, Miles, John, Leo, and Jerome Knight. He was also survived by many great friends and other relatives.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Memorial mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Los Alamos.
