HAROLD I. ROMERO III, 27, a resident of Velarde, departed to be with our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, May 19, 2015. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty L. Gonzales; grandfather, Harold I. Romero, Sr.; grandmother, Eudelia “Lala” Gonzales; great-grandparents, Joe F. and Magdalena Montoya and Filadelfio and Filomena Romero; aunts and uncles, Karen, Lillian, Phillip, Gene, Donald and Orlando “Uncle Buddy” Romero. Mr. Romero is survived by his fiancé, Sharon Gonzales; daughter, Kaycelyn Romero; father, Harold I. Romero, Jr.; sister, Ashley Romero; special niece, Aliyah Martinez; Berna Casias who was like a mother to him and Carlos and Ashley who were like his brother and sister; grandmother, Ymelda Romero; aunts and uncles, Germaine Romero and husband Bernie of Alcalde, Melissa Gallegos and husband Carlos of Alcalde, Patricia Cardoza and husband Manuel of Amarillo Texas, Judy Romero and husband Frankie and Angie Trujillo and husband Charlie of Chimayo, Anthony Gonzales and wife Anette of Española; father and mother-in-law, Casey and Karen Gonzales; sister-in-law, Amber Gonzales; brother-in-law, Mikie Archuleta and the Romero/Gonzales family and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Velarde. Burial to follow at the Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery in Velarde with the following serving as pallbearers, Carlos Gallegos, Jr., Matthew Holguin, Fernando War, Vincent Baldonado, Cecil Muniz and Marvin Romero, Jr. Honorary pallbearers named, James Lujan, Daniel Chavez, Adrian Velarde, Scott Naranjo, Gabriel Martinez and all his cousins. The family of Harold I. Romero, III, has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
