HAROLD SULLIVAN, On Sunday, May 16, 2010, God released Harold Sullivan from his long, painful and difficult struggle with Alzheimer’s. Harold was born to this earthly life October 30, 1941 in Wilmington, NC, and was 68 when he was born into his eternal and heavenly life. He lived and worked in Los Alamos the past 27 years, employed by Los Alamos National Laboratory in D Division.\r\n Harold was a joyfully active member of the Los Alamos Christian Church, serving in many capacities including deacon and elder. He thoroughly enjoyed being a beach bum and was an avid water skier, having performed in ski shows as a young man. He was also a handyman extraordinaire – those efforts benefiting not only his family, but numerous others -- and he did truly love helping others. He enjoyed woodworking, hiking and rock climbing, but his greatest joy was spending time with his children and being supportive of them.\r\n Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Victor and Mrs. Lula Sullivan. He is survived by Linda, his wife of 34 years; son SGT Devin Sullivan of Ft. Stewart, GA; daughter Lindsey, her husband CPT Jonathan Theye and their children Austin and Lanna of Columbus, GA; his brother Victor Sullivan and wife Bunny of Southport, NC as well as many brothers/sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.\r\n A memorial service for Harold will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, June 5, 2010, at the Los Alamos Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in his memory, to either the Los Alamos Christian Church or the Alzheimer’s Association. The Sullivan family has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
