Guadalupe “Yepe” Romero, 93, a resident of Ojo Caliente passed away of natural causes on Thursday, January 19, 2012. She was preceded in death by her son, Clarence Romero; grandson, Lupito Romero; husband, Federico Romero; sister, Rose T. Gonzales; brother, Rafael Vigil. Guadalupe is survived by her sons: Joe Robert Romero and wife Lupita of Dixon, Raymond Gonzales and wife Dorothy of La Mesilla; daughters: Janice Romero of Ojo Caliente, Monica Romero Sandoval and husband Azuical of San Jose, CA; grandson that she loved dearly, Genaro Martinez who she affectionately called “Momono”; daughter-in-law, Emma Romero and husband the late Clarence Romero of Farmington; grandchildren: Freddie, Randy, Lynnette, Diane, Christopher Ray Romero all of Farmington; great-grandchild, Dayana Romero of Farmington; numerous nieces, nephews & other loving relatives and friends. Public visitation will be held on Monday, January 23, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ojo Caliente with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ojo Caliente with burial to follow at Ojo Caliente Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Genaro Martinez, Christopher and Randy Romero, Marcos Gonzales, Jesus Tena and Ramon Trujillo; honorary pallbearers: Shaylene Romero, Phillip DeVargas, Sr., Johnny C. DeVargas, Lorraine Vigil, Ikie DeVargas, Freddie DeVargas, Shirley Lujan, Margie Martinez, Gerald DeVargas, Elaine Rice, Pam Quihuis, Tim DeVargas, Isaiah Vargas, Eliana Gallegos, Lupita Romero, Emma Romero, Dorothy Gonzales, Azuical Sandoval, Freddie, Lynnette and Diane Romero, Paula Vigil, Pat and Maurice Vigil.
