Grace - Age 56 - Chama - Salazar

GRACE N. SALAZAR, 56, a resident of Chama, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 7, 2010. She was preceded in death by her mother, Maria Velarde; step-father, Gabriel Velarde. Ms. Salazar is survived by her companion of 18 years, Richard Ben Martinez of Chama; God-daughters, Crystal Chavez and companion Lee Gutierrez of Utah, Josephine Chavez and her son, Gabriel Jose Antonio Chavez of Chama, Isabella, Theresa and Rhonda Renee Gutierrez all of Utah; God-son, Gabriel Jose Antonio Chavez and numerous cousins from Lumberton and Dulce and a number of friends. Cremation has taken place. A rosary will be recited on Sunday, July 11, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Chama. Memorial mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. also at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Chama. Burial to follow at the Chama Community Cemetery. The Salazar family has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
