GINA M. JARAMILLO , a resident of La Madera and formerly of Chimayo, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 10, 2020. As the baby of the family and only daughter, she entered this world on February 18,1974, to Gilbert and Grace Garcia. She was preceded in death by her father, Gilbert Garcia; brothers, Calvin, Gilbert Jr., and Ernie Garcia. Gina attended Espanola Valley High School and then transferred and graduated from McCurdy High School in 1992. She married her husband, Marvyn Jaramillo on August 31, 2002. Gina loved the outdoors: camping, hunting, fishing, raising farm animals, and gardening. While she enjoyed her employment at Jemez Mountain Co-op and the Rio Arriba County Assessor’s Office, the job she loved the most was stay at home mommy. She was the proud mommy of Calvin, Justyce, and Jarryk. Gina will always be remembered for her beautiful, bright smile and fun loving spirit. She will be dearly missed by all her family, friends, and loved ones. Gina is survived by her husband, Marvyn Jaramillo; children, Justyce Jaramillo and youngest son, Calvin Jaramillo of the home, and Jarryk Jaramillo and girlfriend Lina Ortiz of Pecos; her loving mother and best friend, Grace Garcia of Chimayo; brothers and their significant others, Steven and Roberta Garcia, Horacio and Cassie Garcia, and Dennis Garcia; in laws, Irene Jaramillo of La Madera and Vernon and Priscilla Jaramillo of Ojo Caliente; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dean and Doreen Jaramillo of Santa Fe, Melvyn and Debbie Jaramillo of Alcalde, Joey and Pam Trujillo of El Rancho, Freddie and Lenore Trujillo of Guachupangue, Jynella Jaramillo and Ernest Armijo of Ojo Caliente, and Roxanne Jaramillo of Ojo Caliente; special close cousin, Leo Jaramillo; close nieces, Miranda and Shyann; close nephews, Nicholas, Anthony, and Steven Garcia, as well as numerous nephews and nieces, many whom she helped raise, great-nephews and nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, masks are mandatory only 75 people will be allowed in the building. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Burial to follow at the Nuestra Señora de Dolores Cemetery in Chimayo with the following serving as honorary pallbearers, Miranda Gordon, Shyann Garcia, Tina “Tolardo” Martinez, Angelica Gasca Vigil, Amy Rose, Loryn Trujillo, Nicholas Garcia, Stevie Garcia, Anthony Garcia, Anthony Gordon, Leo Jaramillo, Melvyn Jaramillo, and Mel Garcia. The family of Gina Jaramillo has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
