Gilbert Joe - Age 65 - Tierra Amarilla Salazar

Gilbert Joe Salazar, 65, a resident of Tierra Amarilla, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 19, 2011 with his family by his side. He was preceded in death by his mother Ruffie Salazar; brother, Richard Salazar; uncle, Victor Salazar Sr.; several aunts; dear friends, Rufus Galvan and Dennis Romero. Gilbert was a lifetime backhoe-heavy equipment operator working alongside with Henry’s plumbing and excavation. He was music lover who enjoyed playing the drums. Mr. Salazar is survived by his wife of 45 years, Precilia Salazar; his children, Pauline Salazar, Gilbert Salazar Jr., Charlotte Salazar, Norman Salazar, Jamie Salazar and wife Melinda; sisters, Gloria Salazar, Rose Romero and husband Ron; children raised by Gilbert John Paul, Jeremy, and Krystal Salazar; uncle who was like a father figure to him, Max Salazar and wife Adela; uncle, Tony Salazar and wife Esperanza; aunt, Helen Maestas; aunt, Agrepina Salazar; a close brothers in law, Joe Archuleta and wife Toni and Joe Trujillo, a family friend, Bertha Galvan; and close friend, Henry Ulibarri and Family; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at San Jose Catholic Church in Los Ojos. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at San Jose Catholic Church in Los Ojos with burial to follow at Los Ojos Catholic Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers, John Paul Salazar, Jeremy Salazar, Ross Romero, Norman Salazar Jr., Devan Salazar and Joe Archuleta Jr.; serving as honorary pallbearers, Krystal Salazar, Katrina Salazar, Nadine Glisson and husband Cody, Samantha Salazar, Pamela Salazar, Sherydan Salazar, Jayden Salazar, Chailyn Salazar, Anthony Salazar, Alayna Glisson, Randy Romero and Ryan Romero.
