Gilbert Ortiz

GILBERT P. ORTIZ, 71, a resident of Pojoaque, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 with his family by his side. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Susanita Ortiz. Gilbert loved farming, genealogy and watching sports. He was a hard worker and was the caretaker of his family. He will be missed dearly. Mr. Ortiz is survived by his wife, Rose Marie Ortiz; children, Patrick W. Ortiz (Sharon), Roxane and Ashley Ortiz; grandchildren, Monique, Angelina and Nicholas Ortiz; brothers and sisters, Leonard and Ingrid Ortiz, Edward and Lorraine Ortiz, Joe and Kathy Ortiz, Robert and Ethel Ortiz, Vangie and Bob Archuleta, Lucy and Robert Fresquez, Erlene Ortiz and Gene, Bill Ortiz, Chuck and Cindy Ortiz, Gloria and Anthony Ortiz and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pojoaque with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pojoaque. Burial to follow at 12:45 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. The family of Gilbert P. Ortiz has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
