Gilbert Archuleta, Sr.

GILBERT H. ARCHULETA, SR., 74, a resident of Servilleta, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2019. He was preceded in death by his father, Leo; his mother, Ruth; brother, George L. Archuleta; sister, Gloria Alvarado; son, Anthony Archuleta; father-in-law, Joe A. Giron; and mother-in-law, Dulce Nea Giron. He worked for years through Semi Service in Salt Lake City as a Diesel Mechanic. He moved to New Mexico, where he worked for Los Alamos Schools for 10 years, where he retired. He enjoyed tending to his property and watering his yard. He loved hanging around with his two favorite cousins, Adelmo and Sefer. He loved his favorite nieces, Veronica and Anthony Garcia and Josette and Jon Trevino. Gilbert married Mary Giron Archuleta on May 26 1962. They had three children, Gilbert H. Archuleta, Jr. (Nadine); Lori Tafoya (Tony), Lenora Archuleta (Matthew) and 10 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. A public visitation will begin on Friday, September 6, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ojo Caliente.
