Gilbert Garcia – Age 56 a resident of Santa Cruz passed away on Friday, October 21, 2011. Gilbert was born on July 2, 1955 to Bernabe and Fabiola Garcia in Española. He attended school in Española, graduating from Española Valley High School and worked for Hunter Ford for 34 years. \r\nGilbert was preceded in death by his father, Bernabe Garcia; brother, Delfin Garcia; nephews: Dennis and Chris Garcia; sister-in-law, Glorinda Garcia. \r\nHe is survived by his wife, Darleen Garcia; son, Randy Garcia and wife Camila; daughter, Crystal Garcia and companion Percy Espinoza; grandchildren: Isaiah and Mariah Espinoza and Kalista Garcia; step-children: Victoria Ortega, Rachael Enriquez, Denise Ortega and Raymond Ortega; mother, Fabiola Garcia; brothers: Henry Garcia and wife Aurora of Chimayo, Clyde Garcia and wife Tonita of Ranchitos, Ben Garcia and wife Flora of Chimayo and Johnny Garcia and wife MaryLou of Chimayo; sisters: Aggie and husband Cipriano Lujan of Santa Cruz, Mary Padilla of Hernandez, Eugenia and husband Johnny Barela of Española, Patricia and husband Aurdoro Trujillo of Grants, Josie Garcia of El Llano and Pauline Garcia of Española; mother of his children: Linda Garcia-Vigil; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Public visitation will be held on Monday, October 24, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Burial will follow at the Ojo Caliente Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Adam, Danny, Timothy, Juanito and Stephanie Garcia and April Olivas.
