Geraldine Contreras

Geraldine Lenora Contreras, age 66, a resident of Abuquerque, NM, and formerly of Ojo Caliente passed away on July 28, 2024.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents Stella and Joe Valdez of Ojo Caliente. 

Geraldine is survived by her daughters, Marisol Contreras, Crystal Contreras both of Albuquerque NM and Sylvia Contreras of Sacramento CA. Grandchildren, Felicia, Araceli, Joshua Jr. (Bubba), Enrique and Antonio. 

She was an educator for the Albuquerque Public Schools and the Mesa Vista School districts for over 30 years. She especially loved teaching bilingual classes to the kindergarten students. She was an avid gardener and relished being a member of her local garden club. Her most treasured moments were spent with her family and grandchildren. 

A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at 9:00 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ojo Caliente, NM, with Funeral Mass to follow at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at the Ojo Caliente Cemetery.

Serving as Pallbearers are: Morris Valdez, Michael Valdez, Isaac Valdez, Jason Howells, Aidan Howells, Joshua “Leo” Otero and Charles Martinez.
