Gerald Anthony Lopez, was called by our Lord on April 16, 2010. A resident of El Rito, age 46, born April 26, Gerald loved the great outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Gerald was a very giving and loving man; he loved all family very much. Gerald was the family Cocinero. He was a very good friend and everyone that knew him loved and enjoyed his company. Gerald was preceded in death by his father, Presciliano Lopez; maternal grandparents, Erineo and Siria Alire; nephew, Pres Lopez. He is survived by his son, Gabriel Lopez of El Rito; mother, Maria Lopez of El Rito; brothers, Jose “Rudy” and wife Lori Sisneros of Tesuque, Donald and wife Cindy Alire of El Rito, Joseph “Henry” Lopez of Vallecitos; sisters, Nora and husband Rick Bustos of Ranchitos, Loyda and husband Leroy Abeyta of El Rito, Cecilia Lopez and companion Greg Watson of El Rito, Inez and husband Joe Ortega of Peñasco; a niece considered as his sister, Yoshabelle “Dawn” and husband James Aldaz; mother of his son, Jonna Teeter; godson, Jeremy Jaramillo; nieces and nephews, Loretta and husband Danny Olguin, Ronald, Freddie, Joe, Lawrence and wife Jeanette Sisneros; Braen and husband Andy Terrazas, Lando and wife Carrie Alire, Ashley and Kayla Alire; Ricky Bustos; Audra and Lorenzo Abeyta; Cassie and Christopher Suire; Alejandro and Antoinique Lopez; Kimberly and Jerome Ortega; Juan Aldaz; great-nieces and nephews, Daniel, Santiago and Gabrielle Olguin; Caleb and Marley Sisneros; Sean Sisneros; Elijah and Erianna Sisneros; Santiago, Brandon and Janiae Terrazas; Katie Alire; Calista Sisneros; Isaiah Sisneros; Jared Mata and Emily Baca. Public visitation will begin on Monday, April 19, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m. A second rosary will begin on Tuesday, April 20th at 7:00 p.m. at the San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church in El Rito. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 21st, at 10:00 a.m. at the San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church. Burial will take place at the Placitas Cemetery in El Rito with the following serving as pallbearers, Andrew Moya, Louie Martinez, Sammy Chavez, Joe Aldaz, Michael Alire and Kenny Jaramillo.
