George Diego Pacheco, also known as “Pressure” 61, a lifelong resident of Chamita, died October 5 at his family residence after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe B. Pacheco; grandparents, Adelaido and Perfecta Pacheco and Alfonso and Sixta Garcia; brothers: Phillip, Leroy and Charlie Pacheco.\r\nGeorge will be dearly missed by his family and by his many friends in the community. He was very outgoing and enjoyed life to the fullest. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycles and restoring his 57 Chevies. Despite his illness he was extremely independent. He was very spiritual and loved going to church. He was a member of La Sagrada Familia de Chamita Coro Numero Uno. George was multi-talented and a celebrity. He was a retired schoolteacher, having taught for 26 years in the Espanola School District. He was also a recording artist, coach, and played basketball for Espanola Valley and Highlands University.\r\nSurviving him is his daughter, Tiffany B. Ortiz and granddaughter, Trysten Campos both of El Llano; mother, Rose Torres; his sisters: Elizabeth Pacheco-Quinn of Albuquerque and Prescilla Vigil and husband Manuel Vigil of White Rock; brothers: Alfonso and Frankie Pacheco; half brothers: Joseph and Marvin Sanchez; God-daughter, Elizabeth Perfeta Quinn; sister-in-law, Dolores (Pacheco) Miller; his former wife, Pam Pruelo. Also surviving him are aunts/uncles: Larry and Elsie Pacheco of Chamita, Horace and Lourdes Molina of Albuquerque, Carlos and Ruth Martinez and Rudy and Loyda Garcia, Diana Olguin of Santa Fe, and Carmen Jaramillo of Colorado; nieces/nephews: Galen, Dex, and Perfeta Quinn, Dominico, Gregorio and Antonio Vigil, Phillip James, Mark and Mathew Pacheco, and Alisha Pacheco; numerous other loving relatives & friends.\r\n Rosary will be recited on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh. Memorial mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 12, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh with burial to follow at San Pedro Cemetery in Chamita. Serving the family as pallbearers will be: Galen, Dex, and Perfeta Quinn, Dominico, Gregorio and Antonio Vigil, Phillip James, Mark and Mathew Pacheco, Alisha Pacheco, Joseph Bustos and Fabian Pacheco.
