George Ortega

GEORGE D. ORTEGA, 84, a resident of Coyote, was called home to be with Our Lord on Sunday, September 4, 2016. He was born February 9, 1932. George was preceded in death by his parents, Ezequiel and Ambrosia; 4 brothers; daughter, Georgia Salaz. George was raised along with his brothers, and sisters in Mesa Pinabetal. He lived and worked in Craig Colorado where he met his wife, Dorothy. They moved with their family to Mesa Pinabetal where he remained until his passing. George was a spiritual man who loved his family. George enjoyed the outdoors and wild life. He loved riding horses and working on his ranch. He was very involved with the Penitente de Coyote where he spent many years praying and doing the Lords work. George is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Dorothy Ortega; children, Jeffery Martinez, Evelyn Beal and husband Jeff Beal, Vada Ortega, Ezequiel Ortega and wife Avelena, Dedra Pena and husband Floyd, Curtis Julian and partner Dedra Gentry and George Ortega; sister, Gloria Garcia; 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A rosary will be recited on Friday, September 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Coyote, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow 12:00 p.m. Burial will be held at the Coyote Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers George Ortega, Ernesto Trujillo, Zachary Salaz, Johnny Trujillo, Milnor Branch, Joseph Sandoval, honorary pallbearers will be his loving grandchildren, Amber Beal, Doroteo Ortega, Julio Ortega, Analisa Pena, Floyd Pena, Evan Julian, Mariano Salaz.
